I spend almost all my day doing this unless I decide to let momma hold me or take a nap.

Swing, Swing!

It’s been hard to communicate to my husband how difficult it is to do anything around the house right now with the baby. Israel has become… clingy… which I take most of the responsibility for. I say most because I can’t help I’m so darn love able that the boy won’t let me go. But the same goes for him, gosh I can’t put the cute little body of rolls down sometimes. And it shows if you look around my house that apparently not much gets done without daddy home. Dishes are piled, laundry needs washed and the list goes on!

The most horrible thing happened this week, my husband lost his job. It’s hard and very stressful with a new baby and the fact that I just quit my job a mere week before it happened. We are working our butts off to find him a new job and it’s a hard market out there right now. But this also means Daddy has been home, all week. So Daddy has experienced the clingy baby and it wasn’t hard to convince him that it was time to get a swing.

We shopped around for one today and I fell in love with this cute one at Babies-R-Us, only to realize the pretty yellow and cute birdies were very girly. At our second stop we found a nice neutral one and went for it. Israel was having his own little party at my parents house while we were out so we took the swing over there. Daddy and I sat in the floor putting it together while baby boy watched with bright eyes from his Grandma’s arms.

Daddy got it all together… with some help from me and we fired it up. Our brave little pilot had to deal with over excited parents that started him at the highest level which resembles astronaut testing. His little arms flew into the air and he cried out for help! Lucky for him, Grandma was there to rescue him and slowed the swing down. He swung for maybe five minutes and then decided he really wasn’t into it. That was the first flight.

The second flight came as a test for sleeping. I fed him and rocked him a little before taking him to the swing. Andrew and my mother didn’t think he’d swing at all but he actually enjoyed it this time. He ended up falling asleep in the swing and stayed in it for good 30 minutes before a wet diaper woke the clean freak baby.

And then comes the third and final flight for the night. His Grandma strapped him in to see if it would occupy him while we ate dinner. He enjoyed it very much, he stared at the mobile, checked out the lights and chatted to anyone that would listen. He rocked on until his mommy sense went off and he demanded his own dinner.

Honestly, this swing is going to be a life saver! I’m ready to get back into my projects and it’s difficult to do anything with a baby clinging to you all day. Now the trick is getting ME to let him go.

I’m pretty sure I have separation anxiety when it comes to my baby.

Good morning! Please stop taking pictures and change my diaper!

1 Month, 12 Days. I’m pretty cute, right?
